This hike is one of the most beautiful in the High Tatras. With the cableway from the Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, we can get to the starting point of the hike, from where we continue according to the red mark to the Zamkovského chalet (60 -70 min.). From Zamkovského chalet, we are rising to the end of Small Cold Valley and the Téry Cottage (90-120 min.). After this, the more difficult part of the hike starts. We rise to the Priečne sedlo (45 min) at the height of 2352 meters and continue downhill from there.

Section Priečne sedlo – Zbojnícka chalet (90 min) is located in The Great Cold Valley, from which (after another 120 min.) we can get back to Hrebienok.

At the beginning of The Small Cold Valley, we can find a chalet built by the famous Slovak mountaineer Štefan Zamkovský. At first, this was a private chalet, but after a turbulent history, it became available to the public and is now under the administration of his family.

It is the lowest-located chalet distance, just 1 hour from Hrebienok along the red mark (direction Skalnaté Pleso). This hike is not very challenging and is open throughout the whole year. That is why it is very popular with families with children. During the hike, you can admire Giant Waterfall and the beautiful views of the Tatra basin.

In 1875, a small building, the so-called Ruženina cottage, later a more prominent tourist hotel, was located at the place of Bilikova chalet. The complex was named Studenovodské baths. It wasn't until 1934 that a new Bilíkova chalet was built here.

It is one of the most popular family cottages in the Hrebienok resort, at an altitude of 1255 m. n.m. It is approximately 2.5 km away from Starý Smokovec. The cottage is ideal for a stay with the purpose of tourism because many hiking routes start from here.

As the name says, Dr. Edmund Téry from Banská Štiavnica was responsible for constructing the cottage, which was built in August 1899. Téry's cottage on the bank of Five Spiš mountain lakes became the highest-situated cottage in the Tatras (later surpassed by Chata pod Rysmi). However, it is the highest laid-out cottage with a year-round operation. In the 1930s, the year-round process was introduced here, and central heating was built. The most extensive reconstruction of the cottage took place in 1979-1982, where water supply, showers, and an electrical unit were installed.

The easiest way to get to it is from Starý Smokovec via Hrebienok, Great Waterfall, and Zamkovský chalet.
